Exploratory
Retail onboarding pre-check
Foodscape's retail pre-check compares supplier labels, ingredients and documents against each retailer's listing requirements, flagging missing, inconsistent and human-review items before submission. Currently offered as exploratory partnerships.
Who it is for
Food brands, suppliers, retailer review teams and distributors.
Why it matters
The same data must satisfy different formats per retailer, and rejection notes often say only "incomplete", making resubmission expensive.
How it works
- Build the retailer checklist
Break retailer requirements into checkable fields and documents.
- Compare supplier data
Compare labels, ingredients, nutrition and documents to produce a difference list.
- Flag missing and open items
Separate confirmed gaps from items requiring retailer confirmation.
- Deliver the pre-check report
Produce a report usable for internal fixes or retailer submission.
Deliverables
- Listing check report with missing-item list
- Inconsistencies with suggested corrections
- Open questions for the retailer
Exploratory partnership: pre-check results do not replace the retailer's formal review; listing decisions remain with the retailer.
Procurement FAQ
Can we start with one retailer?
Yes. A pilot typically covers one retailer and one SKU set to validate the checklist and flow.
Will you contact our retailers?
No. Foodscape works only with the data you provide; you decide whether to forward the report.
FAQ
What commonly causes retail rejections?
Common causes: missing label fields, non-conforming ingredient or nutrition formats, mismatched document versions, and names or claims that do not match the product.
Which documents are usually required?
Typically company and product basics, label artwork, ingredient and nutrition data, test or certification documents (by retailer and category), and shelf-life information.
Does pre-check replace retailer review?
No. Pre-check only resolves what can be checked earlier to reduce back-and-forth; formal review stays with the retailer.
